Those are some great tips. It’s interesting to me that you say people in LA are “flaky”. Each city or region has a thing people are known for. In Seattle, it’s called the “Seattle freeze”. It makes it hard to meet new people and it’s difficult to get past “we should hang out sometime” to a real friendship.
I love the term ‘Seattle Freeze’. In Los Angeles, we get a lot of people living here with dreams of being in the entertainment industry. Some of them take on commitments while trying to get work in their career field but they often have a hard time keeping other commitments when bouncing from auditions. This isn’t true of all people trying to break in the entertainment field and it applies to other people as well when trying to find jobs. When we provide care for client’s dogs, we need to be responsible, reliable, detailed oriented, focused on caring for the clients pet and home and always show up. We can’t wake up in the morning after a late night or after a bad nights sleep and decide to stay home. Our clients and their pets are relying on us to show up every day and to give their pets the best level of care. From time to time, I hear awful stories about people who call themselves pet sitters or dog walkers and it breaks my hearts my when pets are not given the care expected by a sitter after they are hired.
