Rufus and Delilah Dog Walking is featuring Velvet (A1590678) who is estimated to be 7-years-young as the Los Angeles dog adoption of the week. Despite her tough looking exterior, she is the definition of “velvet”: “… beautiful, soft, smooth….”
Velvet entered the East Valley Animal Shelter as a stray. She quickly became a favorite of volunteers and employees alike. Everyone who meets her agrees that she has a soft and gentle temperament and a happy nature, which are the best qualities anyone could ask for in a family pet. She is a treasure!
If you will open your mind and home to Velvet, you will be gaining a companion who would happily accompany you on outdoor activities and snuggle with you when El Niño strikes.
Regrettably, the majority of dogs that are kenneled in animal shelters are Pit bulls (albeit, many are mislabeled, and most are mixed breeds), and for them “life is the pits.” Thankfully, many shelters have volunteers who enjoy interacting and socializing with the breed, and they hope to get the message out to potential adopters that a Pit bull can be a source of joy to those people who treat them with love and affection, and will appreciate them for being the loyal, friendly, and goofy dogs that they really are. The East Valley Animal Shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and they are closed on Mondays and Holidays.
