Pack Hikes are Tailored to Provide Safe Small Group Adventures

Our small group Pack Hikes provide a safe and personalized service with your pet(s) safety as the number one concern. Instead of one handler for multiple dogs, pack hikes consist of several handlers, each with just one or two dogs at a time. This ensures that your dog(s) get personalized attention and have the opportunity to safely meet and walk with the pack.

Highest Quality of Care for Your Dog

We are 100% committed to providing all our clients’ pets with the highest quality of care. Our network of independent dog walkers/hikers will give your pets the same love and attention they give to their own pets.

Pack Hikes

Hiking provides both physical and mental exercise. Hikes are more vigorous than neighborhood walks so your dog will come home tired and relaxed. Hiking trails provide new scents, sounds, and sights. They allow our dogs to get outside of the house and gain new experiences. It also provides a great chance to work on training good behaviors that will help your dog’s mental health lifelong.

Socialization

Our small group pack hikes can include anywhere from 3-10 dogs allowing your dog to safely meet other dogs in our network. Your dog will have fun hanging out with different kinds of dogs and hikers and learning to walk peacefully in a pack.

Benefits of hiking for your dog:

  • Mental stimulation
  • Social interaction
  • Improved behavior
  • Increased bonding between dog and hiker
  • Improved digestion
  • Build endurance
  • Boost enthusiasm for outdoor activities

Check out some of our most frequently asked questions about our weekly dog walking and ‘as needed’ dog walking services.

Are there rattlesnakes in the hiking areas?

Yes. Snakes are common in many parks and trails in Los Angeles. Hikers do their best to steer clear of them. We recommend discussing the rattlesnake vaccine with your vet, although it’s not required. You might also want to check out rattlesnake aversion classes to train dogs to recognize these snakes and stay away from them.

How do your hikers handle encounters with other dogs on the trail?

Hikers will move dogs off to the side of the trail to allow other dogs to pass or vise versa

What if one of the dogs can’t handle the hot weather?

If any dog shows signs of having trouble with the heat, hikers can turn around and return. Hikers also can take breaks in the shade and provide extra water breaks.

What happens when it rains?

Hikes will go on rain or shine! Hikers bring towels to dry off your dog(s) before they go home but we suggest you leave towels out as well.

Rufus and Delilah have been caring for our fur babies for five years. The pups are always super excited for their visits. We really appreciate the care that Rufus and Delilah show for our pups, and the information that we receive after each visit is really helpful, especially if one of the pups is a little under the weather. The confidence that Rufus and Delilah inspires in us has made it easy to leave new puppies in their loving hands. Moose, Ellie, and now Moby, are happy and healthy pups, and we know that Rufus and Delilah has a lot to do with that.

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah for several years now and have recommended them to lots of our friends. We started with weekly dog walking with one dog and now that we have two, they walk them both. We’ve had a couple different caring and professional walkers over the years and also substitute walkers when we need to schedule a last minute walk. Charlie and Ozzie have loved them all! Jennifer is also great – very accommodating and helpful with scheduling and last minute emergencies. If you want to make sure your fur babies are given love and attention, this is the company for you.

-Amy M.

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah’s dog walking service multiple times a week for years to help take care of our furry family member. We’ve used several walkers from their service and all have been wonderful, professional, and trustworthy dog lovers who treat our dog like one of their own — what more could you ask for?

Our Promise

Our goal is to provide personal, one on one time spent by the pet sitters with your fur-kid(s). Our independent pet sitters walk your dog(s) in your own neighborhood, and a handwritten note is left at the end of each visit with a description of their time together.

Providing you and your pets with the highest quality of care is our utmost concern. We strive to give them the same love and attention that we give to our own fur-kids.
