Dog Walks are Tailored to Your Dog’s Needs

Is your dog home alone all day?  Can your dog access the outdoors to go potty when you are gone for extended hours?  Could your dog benefit from more exercise than you are able to provide?  We would love to help you break up your dog’s day with a walk and/or playtime.

Highest Quality of Care for Your Dog

We are 100% committed to providing all our clients pets with the highest quality of care.  We will give your pets the same love and attention that we give to our own pets.

Dog Walks

Dog walks may be anything from a slow sniff and smell potty break, to heart thumping exercise, or anything in between. We offer walks/visits in 30, 45, and 60-minute increments. We do not gather multiple dogs from different households; we are exclusively with your fur-kid. This allows your walker to spoil your dog with their time and attention.

Your Schedule & Dog’s Needs

Dog walks may be booked with a weekly ongoing set schedule or on an as needed basis. Your dog walker will walk your dog according to your instructions. If you have a senior dog who requires slow walks around the block, your dog walker will ensure the walks go at a comfortable pace for your dog. If you have a dog who needs to lose weight or has high energy, your dog walker will provide a more energetic exercise walk.

Time may also be allotted for:

  • Playing with toys
  • Brushing
  • Petting
  • Dressing your pup in their favorite outfit
  • Feeding
  • Giving medications
  • Adjusting lights
  • Bringing in packages
  • Taking out trash
  • Anything else to meet your pet’s needs, as well as your own

We always leave a happy pooch, a handwritten note, a fresh bowl of water, and a treat, if allowed.

Check out some of our most frequently asked questions about our weekly dog walking and ‘as needed’ dog walking services.

Will I get to meet my dog walker before the walks start?

Yes. We always set up a one-time complimentary consultation to introduce you to your dog walker and to review your detailed client profile before the dog walks start.

Will I have the same walker each day?

We will match you with a dedicated dog walker. You will then have the same dog walker each day unless there are dates when they are unavailable.  In this situation, we will contact you to let you know we need to set up an alternate walker to fill in for your dedicated walker. We will also set up a practice walk for the alternate walker to join your dedicated dog walker so the dedicated walker can introduce your dog(s) to the alternate walker and show them how they do everything.

Alternatively, we can send the alternate sitter with your detailed profile and keys to the visits without meeting you and your pet(s) first if your pet(s) would welcome the sitter walking into your home not having met them before.

Will my dog walker come at the same time each day?

We ask you to choose a two hour arrival timeframe during which your walker will come each day rather than coming at a set time.

Where do you walk my dogs?

We walk each client’s dog(s) in your own neighborhood.

When do I give a key to my dog walker?

We require two sets of working keys from every client. Keys are to be given to us at the time of the consultation. One set of keys is for your dedicated dog walker and the other set is to be held in the office for emergencies, lockouts, or in case your keys should stop working or break in the lock. If you do not have two sets of keys ready at the consultation, you may either mail them or we can set a time to come back during office hours to pick them up for a $20 fee. We do not have a location for any in-person pick-ups or drop-offs.

What is your cancellation policy for regular daily dog walking or ‘as needed’ dog walking services?

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for regular daily dog walking and ‘as needed’ dog walking. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice from the earlier part of your arrival timeframe, then we will be happy to credit the walk(s). Walks canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded as we will also have to pay your dog walker. Cancellations for Mondays will need to be received before our office closes for the weekend on Fridays at 6 p.m.

Dog WalkingRufus and Delilah is a wonderful dog walking company! Last Year, I started a new job which is an hour away with traffic from where I live, and I was stressing out leaving Missy, my dog, alone for too many hours at home. I was very hesitant about hiring a dog walking company because I had never had a dog walker before. I was hesitant not only because Missy is my life and best friend but I was worried about trusting a company. When I first contacted Jennifer, the owner, she was nice, professional and met my needs for Missy. Jennifer scheduled a consultation with Missy and me so she could meet Missy and get to know her. She introduced me to Missy’s dog walker, Wendi and then Crystal. I showed them the ropes where everything is that they would need for Missy and the areas where I walk Missy. I am so happy I contacted Rufus and Delilah. I am less stressed at work. I don’t have to rush home to take Missy out and I am not worried she will be alone by herself for too many hours. Missy loves Wendi and Crystal. I FULLY trust Rufus and Delilah and I highly recommend them!!

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah for several years now and have recommended them to lots of our friends. We started with weekly dog walking with one dog and now that we have two, they walk them both. We’ve had a couple different caring and professional walkers over the years and also substitute walkers when we need to schedule a last minute walk. Charlie and Ozzie have loved them all! Jennifer is also great – very accommodating and helpful with scheduling and last minute emergencies. If you want to make sure your fur babies are given love and attention, this is the company for you.

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah’s dog walking service multiple times a week for years to help take care of our furry family member. We’ve used several walkers from their service and all have been wonderful, professional, and trustworthy dog lovers who treat our dog like one of their own — what more could you ask for?

Our Promise

Our goal is to provide personal, one on one time spent by the pet sitters with your fur-kid(s). We walk your dog(s) in your own neighborhood, and a handwritten note is left at the end of each visit with a description of our time together.

Providing your pets with the highest quality of care is our utmost concern. We strive to give them the same love and attention that we give to our own fur-kids.
