Dog Walks are Tailored to Your Dog’s Needs

Is your dog home alone all day?  Can your dog access the outdoors to go potty when you are gone for extended hours?  Could your dog benefit from more exercise than you are able to provide?  We would love to help you break up your dog’s day with a walk and/or playtime.

Highest Quality of Care for Your Dog

We are 100% committed to providing all our clients pets with the highest quality of care.  Our network of independent dog walkers and pet sitters will give your pets the same love and attention they give to their own pets.

Dog Walks

Dog walks may be anything from a slow sniff and smell potty break, to heart thumping exercise, or anything in between. We offer walks/visits in 30, 45, and 60-minute increments. We do not gather multiple dogs from different households; we are exclusively with your fur-kid. This allows your walker to spoil your dog with their time and attention.

Your Schedule & Dog’s Needs

Dog walks may be booked with a weekly ongoing set schedule or on an as needed basis. Your independent dog walker will walk your dog according to your instructions. If you have a senior dog who requires slow walks around the block, your dog walker will ensure the walks go at a comfortable pace for your dog. If you have a dog who needs to lose weight or has high energy, your dog walker will provide a more energetic exercise walk.

Time may also be allotted for:

  • Playing with toys
  • Brushing
  • Petting
  • Dressing your pup in their favorite outfit
  • Feeding
  • Giving medications
  • Adjusting lights
  • Bringing in packages
  • Taking out trash

Our independent dog walkers and pet sitters always leave a happy pooch, a handwritten note, a fresh bowl of water, and a treat, if allowed.

Check out some of our most frequently asked questions about our weekly dog walking and ‘as needed’ dog walking services.

Will I get to meet my dog walker before the walks start?

Yes. We always set up a one-time complimentary consultation to introduce you to your dog walker and to review your detailed client profile before the dog walks start.

Will I have the same walker each day?

We will match you with a dedicated dog walker. You will then have the same dog walker each day unless there are dates when they are unavailable.  In this situation, we will contact you to let you know we need to set up an alternate walker to fill in for your dedicated walker. We will also set up a practice walk for the alternate walker to join your dedicated dog walker so the dedicated walker can introduce your dog(s) to the alternate walker and show them how you and your pup like everything done.

Alternatively, we can send the alternate sitter with your detailed profile and keys to the visits without meeting you and your pet(s) first if your pet(s) would welcome the sitter walking into your home not having met them before.

Will my dog walker come at the same time each day?

We ask you to choose a two hour arrival timeframe during which your walker will come each day rather than coming at a set time.

Where do you walk my dogs?

We walk each client’s dog(s) in your own neighborhood.

Do I need to give a key to my dog walker?

We ask that you have two sets of working keys and a key storage lock box. In order to provide our clients and their pets with the most reliable service, Rufus and Delilah Dog Walking & Pet Sitting requires that each client utilize a key storage lock box to hold a minimum of two keys, or two sets of keys, to their residence. Two are necessary in order to ensure that a backup key is always available in case one breaks or becomes lost. The storage box must have a combination code access and we recommend one with at least four digits. The use of a secure lock box provides you with the peace of mind that your key will always be at your home and secure.

What is your cancellation policy for regular daily dog walking or ‘as needed’ dog walking services?

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for regular daily dog walking and ‘as needed’ dog walking. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice from the earlier part of your arrival timeframe, then we will be happy to credit the walk(s). Walks canceled with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded as we will also have to pay your dog walker. Cancellations for Mondays will need to be received before our office closes for the weekend on Fridays at 5 p.m.

Rufus and Delilah have been caring for our fur babies for five years. The pups are always super excited for their visits. We really appreciate the care that Rufus and Delilah show for our pups, and the information that we receive after each visit is really helpful, especially if one of the pups is a little under the weather. The confidence that Rufus and Delilah inspires in us has made it easy to leave new puppies in their loving hands. Moose, Ellie, and now Moby, are happy and healthy pups, and we know that Rufus and Delilah has a lot to do with that.

-Josh & Denise

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah for several years now and have recommended them to lots of our friends. We started with weekly dog walking with one dog and now that we have two, they walk them both. We’ve had a couple different caring and professional walkers over the years and also substitute walkers when we need to schedule a last minute walk. Charlie and Ozzie have loved them all! Jennifer is also great – very accommodating and helpful with scheduling and last minute emergencies. If you want to make sure your fur babies are given love and attention, this is the company for you.

-Amy M.

We’ve been using Rufus and Delilah’s dog walking service multiple times a week for years to help take care of our furry family member. We’ve used several walkers from their service and all have been wonderful, professional, and trustworthy dog lovers who treat our dog like one of their own — what more could you ask for?

Our Promise

Our goal is to provide personal, one on one time spent by the pet sitters with your fur-kid(s). Our independent pet sitters walk your dog(s) in your own neighborhood, and a handwritten note is left at the end of each visit with a description of their time together.

Providing you and your pets with the highest quality of care is our utmost concern. We strive to give them the same love and attention that we give to our own fur-kids.
